A funny thing happened on the way to PHX....

I just cannot get away from RAIN!!! The hurricane weather actually followed me to none other than PHX! After the constant rainy weather in FL I was really looking forward to getting back home to AZ for a little dry heat and sunshine fix. When I flew in it was beautiful. The sky was blue, the mountains were amazing, and my flight was on time. I spent the day working actually, painting a room for the little boy I used to nanny, Joshy. It was soo much fun and the room turned out very cute! (it was a fireman theme). Jeremy was on schedule to fly in last night at about 10:15 p.m. so I headed to the airport to pick him up. HOWEVER, as I was leaving to go get him, an awe jaw-dropping lightening show filled the sky and the rain started pouring in. The winds were high, trees came down and the streets were already starting to flood (since it hardly rains here, there is not the best drainage system here on the streets)! Once I finally got to the airport the monitors had been turned off and I was told the planes were circling above hoping to land at some point. Finally, I received a call from Jeremy and he was in none other than LAS VEGAS! The plane had been diverted there because it was running low on fuel and due to the high winds, the PHX control tower had been evacuated. They had hoped to fill back up and head on back to PHX but unfortunately, the flight was just canceled. He had to spend the night at the airport and I am hoping he will be able to arrive this morning! The airport is still a mess, the news has been reporting they are still in the process of cleaning up the runway and such. Thankfully, Jeremy was in good spirits through the whole deal and I got to my friends house safe about 1:00 a.m. Oh, the irony of life!

How cute is he?!

Jeremy's mom sent us this picture of our nephew, Nate! At 13 months old, he is quite a little character but how can you resist this sweet little face??!!

Baseball Lovers Unite

Last weekend while I was in KC visiting, Jeremy and I caught up on an old tradition of ours...going to a Royals baseball game together! My brother, Scott, and my best friend, Rachel and her husband, Bill, also went along with us and as much fun as it was to all be together, the Midwest weather was miserable! It was very hot and humid, even worse than the FL heat and humidity! (I tell ya...I would rather be in 120 degree AZ dry heat weather than 95 degree weather with humidity!) Even though we were sticking to our seats by the 2nd inning, we managed to peel ourselves off a few times to cheer them on to win against the Boston Red Sox. Jeremy is a HUGE (and very loyal) KC Royals fan and even though I admit being a fair-weathered fan at times, I do enjoy watching the Royals play. In fact, most of our dates in the summer of 2005 consisted of going to Kaufman Stadium! However, I can not give up my roots, so I have a feeling that our wedding vows are going to have to include pledging to raise our family to cheer on both the Royals and the Cardinals!

Going to the Chapel, and we're gonna...

...get married! Yes, even though we are not 'offically' engaged yet, we have decided on getting married on November 29, 2008! Jeremy actually found this adorable chapel in Parkville, MO where we will be getting married at. Our reception will be held in the Zona Rosa area at the Majestic in Kansas City, MO.
